Rooted in Faith, Growing in Community
Welcome! We’re a vibrant church family that believes worship should feel like coming home. Every week, we gather to celebrate God’s love, study the Bible in practical ways, and serve our neighbors with open hearts. You’ll find people of all ages and backgrounds worshipping side-by-side, singing, praying, and laughing together.
Beyond Sunday services, we run small groups, youth programs, and local outreach projects that make it easy to connect and grow. Whether you’ve followed Jesus for years or you’re simply curious about faith, we’re here to walk alongside you—answering questions, sharing hope, and cheering you on every step of the journey.
The Lord replied,
“The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you.”

The Scriptures: The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and our final authority in all matters of faith.
The True God: There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Fall of Man: Humanity was created holy but fell through sin, becoming spiritually lost and in need of a Savior.
The Way of Salvation: Salvation is a free gift of grace through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Justification: Believers are made righteous before God solely through faith in Christ and the pardon of sin.
Regeneration: To be saved, a person must be "born again" by the Holy Spirit, receiving a new heart and spiritual life.
Repentance & Faith: Salvation requires a sincere turning from sin (repentance) and a total trust in Jesus (faith).
Sanctification: The lifelong process of growing in holiness and becoming more like Christ through the Spirit.
Perseverance: All true believers will endure to the end, kept by the power of God through faith.
The Gospel Church: A local body of baptized believers joined by covenant to spread the Gospel and observe Christ's ordinances.
Baptism & The Lord’s Supper: Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s sacrifice.
The World to Come: Christ will return to judge the living and the dead, ushering the righteous into eternal joy and the wicked into eternal punishment.

Believer’s Baptism: We believe in baptism by complete immersion in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is a public declaration of a believer’s faith, symbolizing the death and burial of the "old self" and the resurrection to walk in a new life with Christ.
The Lord’s Supper: Also known as Communion, this is a memorial act where the church partakes of the bread (representing Christ’s body) and the fruit of the vine (representing His blood). It is a solemn time of self-examination and remembrance of His sacrifice on the cross until He returns.

CHURCH COVENANT
Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. We do now, in the presence of God and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into this covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.
We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love, to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort. To promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its ordinances, discipline, and doctrine; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.
We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions, to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportments. To avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger; to abstain from the sale and use of destructive drugs or intoxicating drinks as a beverage; to shun pornography; to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior.
We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love, to remember each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech, to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rules of our Savior, to secure it without delay.
We moreover engage that when we remove from this place, we will as soon as possible unite with some other church, where we can carry out the Spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s word.
God’s Plan in Motion
Our Story: A Journey of Unwavering Faith
The Foundation of Faith
The story of Unity Missionary Baptist Church is not one of bricks and mortar, but of a persistent, living faith. It began with a divine calling placed upon the hearts of Elder Steven Brooks and his wife, Christine. Joined by a small, dedicated group of believers, the ministry was birthed with a singular mission: to serve God and the community with a spirit of excellence and unity.
From Humble Beginnings to Growth
Our journey has been a testament to the scripture that warns us not to "despise the day of small beginnings." Like the early church, we gathered wherever the Lord provided a way. We remember with gratitude the early days of fellowship—from the intimate "watershed" services to our first steps of growth in Little Rock. As our congregation grew, so did God’s provision. We moved from the watershed to a small building on 36th Street, then eventually to 12th Street. Each location was a classroom where we learned the value of stewardship and the power of persistent prayer.
The Blessing of North Little Rock
God’s hand was never more evident than when He prepared a permanent home for us across the river. Through an incredible act of kingdom-minded generosity, Pastor Greene donated the building located at 2922 E. 2nd St. in North Little Rock. This miraculous blessing provided the foundation for the ministry we know today, turning a gift of real estate into a sanctuary of hope.
Tried by Fire, Sustained by Grace
Our faith was put to the ultimate test when fire struck our sanctuary, leaving behind ash and uncertainty. It was a season of profound hardship and a learning experience that forced us to lean entirely on the Holy Spirit. Yet, even as the smoke cleared, our trust in God remained unshaken. We realized that while a building can be burned, the Church—the people of God—cannot be consumed. We walked through the fire, and we emerged with a "never-wavering" resolve to rebuild.
The Blessing of New Construction
Today, the sound of hammers and the sight of rising frames are the sounds of answered prayer. We are currently in a season of extraordinary blessings and progressing new construction. Each day brings us closer to a completed sanctuary that will feature a new baptismal, pulpit furniture, and a state-of-the-art sound system to carry the Word.
God’s Unfinished Works
We are "Moving Past Disaster" not by our own strength, but by the same faith that Elder Brooks and Sister Christine started with years ago. This new construction is more than just a building; it is a monument to God's faithfulness. At Unity Missionary Baptist Church, we believe that the best is yet to come, and we invite you to be a part of the "Unfinished Works" God is performing in our midst.
